Helping The Excellence Partnership communicate niche expertise

Getting Curious

The Excellence Partnership (TXP) is a firm of business improvement specialists, working with manufacturing and engineering companies throughout the UK to bring about performance improvements.

The business was founded on the belief that there's always a better way to work. It comes from ‘an engineering mindset, a streak of perfectionism, and not settling for anything less than full potential.’

Working with large defence Primes through to the SME sector, The Excellence Partnership helps customers do the best they can, with what they have, in the best way possible.

Head of Operations Dave Hood approached us for help to develop a communications strategy to promote the team’s in-depth knowledge of Business Excellence and SC21.

SC21 (Supply Chains for the 21st Century) is a continuous improvement programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence industries by raising the performance of its supply chains.

TXP is ideally placed to support Primes with supply chain improvement initiatives and help SMEs secure SC21 accreditation that will enable them to move into defence and aerospace supply chains. Dave was looking for guidance, information and support to develop a better way of reaching companies in this sector.

Collaborating

Through a series of one-to-one sessions, we worked with Dave to understand the business and the team’s expertise, specifically around SC21.

These Pathfinder sessions explored the company’s current customer base, networks and opportunities; we segmented key target audiences; highlighted the challenges and needs of each; and spent time developing strong messaging around SC21 and the value that TXP adds through in-depth experience, networks and connections.

From the information gathered during these sessions, we developed a communications strategy and 12-month action plan.

Delivering Clarity

The final session was a run through of the communications strategy and plan, which Dave and his team will deliver. The plan covered everything from blog and social media content ideas to referrer strategies and customer events - all created in a format the team was already comfortable using.
Following the Pathfinder, Dave says the company now has a better and more structured way of engaging with clients.

“I’d seen Karen on LinkedIn: we shared mutual connections, and I found her easy to talk to. When I explained what I was looking for, Karen mentioned the Pathfinder service. Seeing that there was a clear process to work through appealed to me.

“Partners are open, honest, straightforward and easy to work with. They helped me think through options and ideas in a structured way, and I liked the way the Pathfinder process could flex to explore everything I wanted to explore and achieve the outcome I was looking for.

“I would recommend it if you’re looking for guidance and support to find better ways of reaching the right customers to grow your business.”
