We don’t know many businesses that can celebrate 175 years of trading, but our client Silvery Tweed Cereals have hit that incredible milestone this year – so we joined them in raising a glass to the occasion.
The Berwick-upon-Tweed firm marked their anniversary by collaborating with award-winning beer-makers Born in the Borders to create two limited-edition Silvery Tweed beers, crossing the border into Scotland to create their signature brews.
At 3.8%, ‘175’ is a light golden ale perfect for summer drinking. Borders-grown barley, contributed by Silvery Tweed, and a complex mixture of hops create a palate of citrus and floral flavours. ‘1843’, a 4% amber ale, offers a slightly more robust drinking experience with a moreish balance of malty sweetness and late summer fruit flavours.
The two birthday brews were unveiled at a suppliers’ dinner hosted by Silvery Tweed at the Born in the Borders Brewery in Jedburgh. We provided design support and marketing assets to accompany their launch, as well as creating limited-edition beer gift boxes to give to Silvery Tweed’s suppliers and customers.
Silvery Tweed’s Managing Director, Bob Gladstone, said: “175 years in business is no small achievement, and we thought there’s no better way to celebrate than by inviting our associates to enjoy a locally-made beer with us. Silvery Tweed Cereals were founded in 1843, and the way beer is brewed now is still very similar to how it was back then – so we like to think that we’re raising a glass to the past, the present, and the future.”
We’re proud to have been involved in the creation of these fantastic tipples, and we were delighted to be invited to the launch event to taste them (all in the name of supporting our clients, you understand). We will continue to help Silvery Tweed mark their 175
th anniversary throughout 2018 with a series of events, charitable donations and enterprises.
Happy beerthday, Silvery Tweed!
